Education Helps Decrease Pain & Fear

How Did Your Labor Start?

Labor started at home. Thanks to your course, I knew I had a while until we had to get to the hospital so my husband and I spent relaxing time at home and a farmer’s market. We danced, listened to music, watched TV, slept, prayed and ate!

What was the Most Challenging aspect of your childbirth and How did you Overcome it?

The length of labor – I was in labor for almost 60 hours! What helped most was all the tools I learned in the course. I had movies on my iPad, a positive mindset, birth affirmations printed on the walls, a birth playlist, birth plan etc.

How did the Push Lab help you prepare for an empowered birth?

It changed my whole mindset through education and empowered physical & mental moves. I was completely prepared, I knew how to advocate for myself and most importantly I was able to shift from a pain/fear mindset to an excited/empowered mindset.

What surprised you about your birth?

How long and intense it was at times! It’s a pain unlike I’ve ever experienced but I was able to get through almost 60 hours of labor largely without pain medication. I didn’t believe that was possible. I also did not tear and the moves I learned in the course were so helpful!

How did it feel to meet your baby for the first time?

It was the beautiful, magical, overwhelmingly joyous and special moment of my whole life. I couldn’t believe that I actually did it!

What advice can you give to moms looking to prepare for an empowered birth?

Pain does not equal fear, education is immensely helpful.
